Today marks the delivery of the last residential units of the Wicherskwartier project by developer Boelens De Gruyter to a.s.r. vastgoed vermogensbeheer. The units were purchased by the ASR Dutch Core Residential Fund. The complex comprises 135 apartments, 4 commercial spaces and a car park with 125 spaces. Wicherskwartier is located at Buyskade in Amsterdam-West, within the A10 ring road.
Robbert van Dijk, Fund Director of ASR Dutch Core Residential Fund: “Wicherskwartier is a fantastic residential investment and a welcome addition to our residential property fund for many years to come. The fact that all the apartments were let before delivery shows that this unique project at this popular location was successfully targeted at a large group of tenants. Once again proof of an increasing demand for high-quality rental housing in Amsterdam”.
In 2012, project developer Boelens De Gruyter again brought the stakeholders together, enabling a relaunch of the project that had been dormant for several years. According to director Maarten de Gruyter, this form of cooperation is an example of modern development practice. “Wicherskwartier shows how the developer, end investor, government and contractor can proactively push for a result.”
a.s.r. vastgoed vermogensbeheer will in the coming period add various new build projects to the portfolio of the residential property fund. Robbert van Dijk: “Our pipeline is filled with a number of high-profile projects at central locations in the Randstad area. Additionally, we are actively seeking out new projects to further concretise the planned expansion of the residential property fund. For this, we focus not only on the Randstad, but also on housing projects in a number of other (city) locations in the Netherlands, such as Groningen, Zwolle, Apeldoorn and 's-Hertogenbosch. ”Back to news
