Kroonenberg Groep has sold the building at Wibautstraat 80 – 86 in Amsterdam to Boelens de Gruyter. The building, also known as the Jan Bommerhuis, has a floor area of approx. 16,100 m², including parking. It is largely let as office and training space to the HvA, the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. The ground floor houses an Albert Heijn supermarket, a bicycle store and a hospitality establishment.
Boelens de Gruyter has plans to redevelop the iconic building, located on the corner of Wibautstraat And Eerste Oosterparkstraat. Although the future zoning is not yet certain, the building is ideal for transformation into residential property. Maarten de Gruyter, director of Boelens de Gruyter: ”Following the earlier acquisition of the former Parool & Trouw building at Wibautstraat, this transaction is completely in line with our strategic choice for this part of Amsterdam. Good cooperation between the government and market parties has in recent years led to an impressive metamorphosis of Wibautstraat. A trend that we hope to further boost with the redevelopment of this magnificent building”.
Kroonenberg Groep was during the sales procedure supported by Van Dijk & Ten Cate Vastgoed Adviseurs, while Boelens de Gruyter received advice from NL Real Estate. Houthoff Buruma acted as notary on behalf of the Kroonenberg Groep, Osborne Clarke served as the legal adviser to Boelens de Gruyter.
